How to Get Involved |
Cheshire Building Society Corporate Involvement
Part of Cheshire Building Society eCommerce team’s community support activity is to produce three charity websites per year. In 2005 Mellor Country House was one of the focus charities for the eTeam. They used their skills in web design and content creation to produce the site you are currently viewing. Although the Charity had an existing web presence, it was through its association with Manchester Cathedral and therefore was part of a long list of equally worthy causes supported by the Cathedral. As the House approached its centenary it was proposed that the Charity should capitalise on the power and reach of the web. A bespoke site would help to gain publicity for the events that raise the vital funds that are needed to provide the kind of service offered by Mellor Country House.
The team of five worked on researching what was required from the Charity’s perspective and what the main focus of the site should be. Once this concept was agreed, the team set about creating the necessary content, graphics and navigation required to present the site to a group of Mellor Country House volunteers. Feedback was very positive and the project moved forward, with the new look site being launched in May 2005.
